SuperSkysense will strengthen competitiveness of the European civil aeronautics industry through substantially reduced maintenance cost, additionally providing improved safety, reliability and reduced environmental impact, by means of an optimised maintenance concept based on an on-board fluid monitoring and reconditioning system.
TECHNICAL
To design, develop and validate an on-board hydraulic fluid reconditioning system to stop and revert fluid degradation thus enhancing the fluid's lifetime almost indefinitely. Superskysense will monitor the critical parameters and evaluate the condition of the aviation hydraulic fluid used in most civil aircraft (phosphate ester-based fluids).
ECONOMIC
The adoption of this system will significantly reduce aircraft operating costs in the short and long term, through reduction in consumption, maintenance costs and other direct operating costs.
SOCIAL
Part of the aforementioned savings will be consequently passed on to passengers. Furthermore, improving safety, reliability and punctuality of the air transport system as a whole will reduce lost time, frustration and cost for European travellers.
SAFETY
Superskysense provides and processes critical information linked to vital airframe functions such as hydraulic actuators, allowing to anticipate potential risks due to fluid degradation, thereby preventing malfunction. The reliability level of the overall hydraulic system and components will increase drastically .Considering maintenance personnel safety, the risk of accidental contact with corrosive fluid during maintenance operations is eliminated.
